PHASE 1.0
Establishment of 24 Standalone libraries in Schools across Lahore and Bahawalpur
In the first phase of the project, ITA established 24 vibrant fully functional standalone libraries across districts, Lahore and Bahawalpur. These spaces are now buzzing with young readers, with every class visiting at least once a week to discover the joy of books. To fuel young imaginations, we supplied each partner school with over 600 colorful, child-friendly storybooks from the acclaimed Ideal Book Collection. This initiative has opened new worlds for approximately 10,000 primary-grade students, promoting a lifelong love for reading.
Capacity Building on Library Management and Library Period Management:
To ensure the libraries thrive, a comprehensive Training was conducted by ITA for 37 Master Trainers who subsequently cascaded the training to 71 schoolteachers. The training equipped them with essential skills in Library Management and Library Period Management to conduct effective library periods, empower students to guide children and maximize the use of this incredible resource.
Library Outlook:
Each library was thoughtfully designed to be a welcoming and stimulating haven for children. Featuring comfortable carpets, low-level tables, cozy cushions, and vibrant paintings, the spaces are equipped with child-friendly display racks. Every detail was chosen to let young imaginations run wild and give students the freedom to explore new worlds.

PHASE 2.0
Establishment of 10 library Corners in schools across Lahore and Bahawalpur
Building on the success of our first phase, ITA expanded its reach by integrating literacy directly into the classroom. In Phase 2, ITA established 10 vibrant and fully functional library corners in schools across districts Lahore and Bahawalpur. ITA transformed classrooms by placing colorful, child-friendly book racks at the rear, each stocked with over 1450+ copies of Ideal Book Collection Titles. This strategic placement puts a world of stories within easy reach, encouraging students to explore and read throughout the school day.
Capacity Building on Library Management and Library Period Management:
To ensure the new resources are used effectively, ITA trained 20 Master Trainers in “Library Management and Library Period Management,” who subsequently cascaded the training to 74 schoolteachers. The sessions focused on managing the library corners and conducting productive reading periods, equipping educators with the tools to foster a lasting love for reading in the young students.
Library Outlook
Every library corner was intentionally designed to be a mini haven for imagination. The inviting setup, centered around the vibrant book displays, encourages children to unleash their creativity and explore new ideas, making reading an adventurous and joyful part of their daily routine.

PHASE 2.5 (Fifth Amendment)
Establishment of 36 Standalone libraries in schools across Punjab
The extension of phase 2 marks a significant provincial expansion, with 36 new libraries currently being established across 15 districts across Punjab. This wide-reaching initiative is set to transform the learning landscape into the following Districts:
Northern Punjab: Attock, Jhelum, Chiniot
Central Punjab: Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan
Southern Punjab: Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Mianwali
Capacity Building on Library Management and Library Period Management
To ensure the libraries become dynamic hubs of learning, ITA trained 29 Master Trainers from PECTAA on Library Management and Library Period Management. Currently, ITA team and the MTs are in the process of training 72 teachers from partner schools on Library Management and Library Period Management to conduct effective reading periods and manage library effectively. This empowers them to foster a love of reading and maximize the library’s potential for every child.
Inauguration of Libraries in Pakpattan
On August 14th, 2025, ITA marked a dual celebration in Pakpattan, commemorating both the inauguration of new libraries in four local schools where the libraries were established by ITA and the Independence Day of Pakistan.The ceremony was graced by Mr. Khalid Nazir Wattoo, Secretary School Education, Punjab as the special guest. He, alongside CEO-ITA Miss Baela Raza Jamil, shared inspiring words of wisdom with the students and teachers, emphasizing the power of education and reading. The event featured patriotic speeches and performances by children, beautifully blending a celebration of national pride with the joy of accessing new books, symbolizing a bright future for the young learners.
Inauguration of Libraries in Kasur
On September 28th, 2025, the library at Government Girls High School, Khan Kay More, Kasur, was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Education Punjab, Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat. The Education Minister, alongside enthusiastic students, dedicated teachers, and the ITA team, took part in a vibrant ceremony to celebrate this new hub of learning. The event was marked by a shared sense of joy and commitment to empowering students through access to books and knowledge.
Library Outlook
The new libraries are being carefully designed as vibrant hubs for creativity and discovery. Each space will feature comfortable carpeting, lower tables, and welcoming, colorful book racks filled with appealing, child-friendly books. Our vision is to create an environment where every child feels inspired to let their imagination soar and explore the boundless worlds that reading unlocks.
