A four-day ‘Book Development Workshop’ for children’s books was held in Lahore under the auspices of Room to Read (RtR) and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) under its Pakistan Literacy Project at Faletti's hotel Lahore. It was conducted by Mahesh Prathirathna of RtR and Rumana Husain of ITA. Two more focused workshops have been planned for writers and illustrators to develop fifteen exciting storybooks for children.
It was the first time in the country that writers, illustrators, editors and art editors had come together from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Swat, and other places to collaborate on this project.
