TRAINING OF MASTER TRAINERS (TOT) 29th August to 1st September 2022

With the aim to train master trainers PLP team conducted a 4-day Training of Trainers Workshop in Lahore from 29th August to 1st September 2022 at Shalimar Tower Hotel, Lahore. The objectives of the workshop were to describe activities that help develop a habit of reading, explain the purpose of classroom library and the features required to make it effective ,explain and demonstrate Reading activities to enhance habit of reading ,explain the arrangement of furniture, book leveling and display of books, explain the importance of community engagement in the library, and activities to improve this engagement ,explain what makes a library child friendly, and describe the role of teachers and librarian in developing a child friendly library, discuss the action plan to be implement after the workshop/training ends 

 

The workshop was attended by project teams from District Bahawalpur and Lahore, along with a few external stakeholders. Breakdown of the participants is as follows:

Establishment of Libraries

PLP has established child-friendly Library rooms in 24 primary schools (12 in Bahawalpur and 12 in Lahore) and the establishment of classroom library corners in 10 more schools (05 in Bahawalpur and 05 in Lahore).
